In February I ordered some make-up from e.l.f.’s mineral line and today I went completely mineral with it. I created a 100% mineral look and put my new e.l.f. products through some thorough testing. Time to find out how they did!
e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow in Socialite + e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow in Outdoorsy
Using mineral make-up means working with loose powder, and that always takes a little bit of practice. Compact powders are easier to use, usually have less fall out and there is less risk of spilling product where it doesn’t need to be (as in: eyeshadow on your cheeks and blush on your crisp white blouse). So you will definitely have to figure out how to get the right amount of product on your brush and how to keep everything clean. But believe me when I say that the e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow in Socialite and in Outdoorsy are both totally worth that bit of extra practice, time and effort.

Why? Well, first of all both colors are in-cre-di-ble! Seriously, both shades are already at the top of my eyeshadow stash because they are so gorgeous. Socialite is a very unique color and is hard to describe. It’s the kind of shade that looks different from every angle and that changes in different lighting. I’d describe Socialite as a medium grey chrome-like shade with subtle purple and brown undertones. And with a super shimmery finish. Outdoorsy then is a stunning dark (almost black) mossy green color with again lots of shimmer. My jaw literally dropped when I saw this shade. Yes, I have a soft spot for greens, but my god, the intensity and finish of Outdoorsy are truly amazing!

So I am obviously very impressed with the colors. And the wear is pretty impressive as well. This eyeshadow stays put all day, without creasing or losing any of its intensity.
e.l.f. Mineral Blush in Rose
Again I have to start by saying that working with loose powder takes a little more patience and precision that using a compact. This e.l.f. Mineral Blush is quite pigmented and if you don’t watch out you could end up looking like a clown with just one sweep of your brush. So less is definitely more. This is how I do it: I dip my blush brush in the powder, tap off the excess product so that most of it falls back in the jar, and then gently sweep the brush over the back of my hand a few times. That way the color really gets in the bristles and all the tiny chunks crumble into a fine powder. And then it’s just a matter of applying the blush like a normal compact blush.
The color of this e.l.f. Mineral Blush is, as you probably expected, pink. It’s a pretty warm pink that looks very sweet and natural on the cheeks. And it does that all day long, because just like the eyeshadow, this e.l.f. Mineral Blush stays put all day.
e.l.f. Mineral Lip Tint SPF 8 in Rose
I added the finishing touch to my mineral look with e.l.f.’s Mineral Lip Tint, a pink tinted mineral lip balm. The color is subtle, but it’s there. It adds a very natural-looking touch of pink to my lips that doesn’t look too glossy. I think it’s perfect in combination with the bolder eye make-up.
The e.l.f. Mineral Lip Tint is easy to use, contains SPF 8 and keeps my lips very well hydrated. I am a lip balm fanatic and this lip tint hydrates my lips just as well as the Labello lip balm I normally use. Only with this lip tint I get some extra color as well. Yep, it’s a keeper!
My mineral opinion
I am really pleased with all four products. Especially the e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow has swept me off my feet. The pigmentation is brilliant, the finish is gorgeous and both colors are amazing. What more could you want? And the e.l.f. Mineral Blush and the e.l.f. Mineral Lip Tint score high marks as well. They both have a lovely sweet pink color and look really natural on the cheeks and lips.
The e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow in Socialite and Outdoorsy are both 6,95 CHF (about 5,70 euros), the e.l.f. Mineral Blush is 10,95 CHF (about 9 euros) and the e.l.f. Mineral Lip Tint is 6,95 CHF. All products are sold in the e.l.f. web shop.
Do you use mineral make-up?

I love the look on your eyes! It looks very beautyful and elegant.
Thank you :-)
I’d love to try everything! The look you created is amazing, you are too pretty!:) Kisses! xo
Thank you, you are too sweet! ;-)
Heel mooi! Lijken me goede producten :)

Leuk om te horen dat je het mooi vindt!
Those mineral eyeshadows are simply stunning, such color payoff, stunning!
They really are!
I actually don’t own any mineral makeup, because I’m lazy and a bit OCD. Having to work with loose powder scares me quite a bit! However I do really love these on you! They all seem super pigmented and that’s always good in my book!
Yeah, the pigmentation is amazing! Maybe you should give them a try some time. Don’t use them for the first time on a busy Monday morning, of course, but maybe on lazy Sunday when you can take all the time you need? Afterwards you might be hooked, who knows! :-)
I have not tried any mineral cosmetic because most of them are pigments and I dislike the fallout. You are so gorgeous in that picture, looking sexy :)
It’s true that loose powder is tricky to work with, but I personally feel this mineral eyeshadow is worth the extra effort. And thank you for the nice compliment!
Your eyes has a perfect shape and your lips looks really really healthy. I am so jealous. :)
I love ELF’s mineral line. I tried their mineral foundation and it works perfectly.
Thank you :-) I have the e.l.f. mineral foundation too and I like it as well.

Haha, true :-)
Bedankt :-) <3
